How to edit a job application

  • Sign into USAJOBS.
  • Go to your Applications on your Dashboard page.
  • Find the application you would like to update.
  • Select the + icon to see your application details. You cannot edit an application after the job announcement closes.
  • Select Edit my application.

We will send you to the last step you completed in the application process.

From there, you can update your resume or documents and other parts of your job application. Select Continue to agency site and finish the next steps to submit your application.

If you update your application, agencies will see both your old and new information. The agency will review your most recent submission. Agencies must keep certain records to meet legal requirements.

You can ask the agency not to consider you for a job or to accept changes to your application. To do that, use the Agency contact information in the job announcement.
